
Water Pimpernel
(Samolus ebracteatus)
It is found in wetlands, including seashore salt marshes, and near springs and intermittent rivers. Flowering spring-fall. Bright-green stems are erect or ascending. Leaves usually crowded near plant base. This perennial herb can grow to 24 inches tall. Pinkish or white flowers are borne in a terminal raceme from the center of the plant. Sites include dunes, coastal strands, salt marshes in Fla., Kans., La., Nev., N.Mex., Okla., Tex.; Mexico; West Indies; Central America.
