Coastal Ragweed aka Beach Ambrosia
(Ambrosia hispida)
Native Americans used this plant medicinally, with a tea made from the leaves used to treat swelling, vomiting, bowel cramps, and colds, and as a salve used to treat skin sores. The seeds are an important food source for many birds. A number of butterflies and moths use this plant as food for their larvae.
