Beginning December 1st, the Barefoot Beach Learning Center will be open from 10 AM until 4 PM daily, seven days a week.  We still need docents to fill some empty spots, so if you would like to volunteer, we can use you.  Please email us (Docents@FOBBP.org) if you would like to help.  There are two shifts each day.  The first shift begins at 10 AM and those scheduled for the morning will open the Learning Center, wipe down displays, make sure materials are available, and encourage visitors to sign the guest register.  The afternoon shift begins at 1 PM, and the docents who are scheduled will greet visitors and encourage them to sign the guest register, and then put away items and make sure all cabinets are locked, covered, and secured at the end of the day.  The docent season typically runs from December 1st until April 1st.  If you cannot be present for an assigned shift, we ask that you try to find a replacement from the list of docents, or let Betty Tryon know as far ahead as possible, so someone else can be there.  If the weather is inclement, the learning center may not be opened for all or part of the day, since few visitors are likely to be in attendance anyhow.
